Since 1996 Executive Directors of New Church Planting Organizations have been meeting in Colorado during the second or third week of September. New Church Planting is one of the most effective means for growing the Kingdom of God and the Directors want to lead with excellence, precision, and success.

The purpose of the Retreat has remained consistent over the years. The Directors meet to hear subject matter experts speak to spiritual formation, executive leadership, planter selection, coaching, management teams, assessment, spousal care, fund-raising, crisis mitigation, church polity, networking, collaboration, ethnic planting, urban and rural issues, international planting, and other topics of interest. In addition to presentations, there are discussions of best practices and real-life experiences. There is also plenty of time for encouragement, worship, prayer and food. Each year one of the Directors heads up the program for the retreat to ensure that the content is current and timely.

For over 17 years the Executive Directors Retreat has used the facilities of the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado. The setting is beautiful, the accommodations comfortable, and it is great time of year to enjoy the Mountain West.. It may be hot, warm, cool, perhaps some snow on the peaks. There is time for fly fishing, golf, hiking and resting. You will see elk, deer, and perhaps bear, mountain lion, or coyote. You will definitely be inspired by God’s Creation.

Local arrangements and registration details are overseen by R. Paige Mathews. For more information or to ask questions, please contact him at 303.378.5363 or rpaige@aol.com. We look forward to seeing you in September!
